A HUGE explosion has rocked the Italian metropolis of Milan after stories mentioned a van carrying oxygen tanks ignited.

After the blast that despatched black smoke pouring over the Italian metropolis, police evacuated a close-by kindergarten and nursing residence.

The blast occurred round midday native time within the Porto Romana space, south-east of Milan.

Italian media stories that the truck carrying the oxygen tanks was parked on a road nook when it exploded, inflicting an extra eight autos, together with mopeds, to burst into flames.
