Texas suspects arrested for stealing 18,000 gallons of gasoline in gas theft ring


Three suspects had been arrested in Texas this week in reference to an alleged organized gas ring, accused of stealing 18,000 gallons of gasoline at one station.

Staff on the Rickey Rockets gasoline station in Garland, Texas, alerted police after rising suspicious of a white field truck that saved exhibiting up, FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Price reported Saturday.  

Following a multi-county investigation, Julio Benitez-Hernandez, 30, Joxan Santos-Legon, 42, and Rafael Vazquez-Unzaga, 30, had been arrested 150 miles northeast on Garland in Bowie County on Thursday. 

Investigators surveilled the suspects’ truck to Bowie County the place the suspects had been allegedly discovered with 1,500 gallons of stolen gasoline.

“This goes over 4 completely different counties from these people,” Garland Officer Felicia Jones advised FOX 4. “There isn’t a telling what number of completely different areas, and what number of instances, and the way a lot was taken every time they made a visit.”

The suspects are accused of pumping the gasoline at a standard charge whereas slowing down the meter, the Texas Monetary Crimes Intelligence Heart advised FOX 4.

Their field truck additionally reportedly has an inner storage system for the stolen gasoline, Garland police stated. 

The suspects had been booked into the Bowie County Jail and can ultimately be transferred again to Garland, in accordance with FOX 4.
