
A West Virginia man has been charged with homicide after a forestry employee was killed attempting to extinguish a fireplace the person is accused of setting.
The fireplace was reported on Tuesday evening within the Tucker Hole space of Fayette County. In a single day, the fireplace grew to devour a number of hundred acres. On Thursday, forester Cody Mullens was fatally injured by a falling tree whereas preventing the fireplace.

The Division of Forestry was in a position to decide that the fireplace was deliberately set, Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley mentioned Friday in a news launch. The arson investigation led to the arrest of David A. Bass, of Kimberly.

Along with the homicide cost, Bass is charged with 4 counts of felony wildland arson. On Saturday, Bass was being held on the Southern Regional Jail. Jail information don’t listing an lawyer for Bass.
